2019 – Spring Retreat

Spring is time for rejuvenation as we emerge from the cold winter temperatures and short days.

What’s new

This spring we will focus on stimulating the function of your adrenal glands (two triangular glands on top of your kidneys that are responsible for secreting the energizing hormones cortisol and adrenaline in times of stress). Due to stressful lifestyles, these glands are often overtaxed and many symptoms can be attributed to their malfunction, including chronic fatigue, reduced immune system, sleep, and digestive disturbances, cognitive difficulties, and odd food cravings.

The flow

The retreat starts on Friday afternoon with an invigorating and grounding session before the first dinner together. The evening yoga session will be accompanied by a lecture to explain major muscle groups and their involvement in each asana we will do throughout the weekend. Students will be encouraged to focus on their specific needs.

On Saturday, as the sun rises, you can start with your personal practice before a light breakfast. Thereafter we meet for a full day of yoga split into three sessions; one 3-hour session before lunch, another 3-hour session after lunch and a 2-hour evening session after dinner. After lunch, you will have time to explore the area, hike up the cliffs or walk along the Pecos River. On Saturday the eight-hour yoga practice will allow you to explore your personal needs and observe how your body is changing with every asana and every breath you take.

On Sunday, as the sun rises again, you can start with your personal practice before a light breakfast. Students can join the Catholic mass at the Monastery church that is open to the public. The two-session yoga practice will recapitulate and build upon the asana discussed and practiced throughout the weekend. After four o’clock we head on our separate ways, or together, back home, with more energy than we came with.

Personal Practice 6:00 – 8:00 AM
Morning 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM – 3 hours
Afternoon 2:30 – 5:30 PM – 3 hours
Evening 7:00 – 9:00 PM – 2 hours

Sunday, April 7th:
Personal Practice 6:00 -7:30 AM
Morning 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM – 2 hours
Afternoon 1:00 to 4:00 PM – 3 hours

Price is $575.00 (includes accommodation, all healthy meals, and all yoga classes)

Those unable to attend the entire retreat are welcome to come to individual classes that are priced accordingly:
